EmpowerED Families December 2024 e-newsletter

Empowered by the Community

Whether you speak up for your child, advocate for students in your life, reach out to policy makers, have signed petitions, spread the word about opportunities, attended our events, read our emails, interacted with us on social media, etc, advocating for education can take many forms. Your partnership has allowed us to:

  • Connect families with the Go Farther Literacy Fund

  • Secure more community and school partnerships

  • Connect families with information about HBCUs and FAFSA information

  • Identify and train parent advocates

  • Help more families express their concerns about K-12 education

  • Connect families to high quality schools

  • Amplify the need for more transportation resources at charter and innovation schools

  • Highlight the importance of innovative approaches to family engagement at schools through community presentations

  • Meet with more community leaders on possible solutions

  • and more, all in service of Indianapolis students and families.

“Shoutout to EmpowerED Families for helping me with my situation regarding my son's school. Kim Graham also went above and beyond to help me find a teaching job that fits me. Thanks for all you do." - LaToya Powell
